COVID rapid and PCR tests available, walk-ins welcome, most insurances accepted.
COVID Test Available to Everyone
Malek Medicine currently provides two-step testing of COVID-19 to ensure accuracy of results. Testing is available to anyone with or without symptoms. If the patients are symptomatic, we would test them for influenza as well and prescribe medication for flu if that is positive.
Rapid Antigen Test (Nasal Swab)
The Rapid Antigen Test has been made available by FDA under Emergency Use Authorization (EUA). It is a new technology, which gives us the capability to determine if you are carrying the COVID-19 Virus within 15 minutes. This test scans for proteins on the surface of the virus that causes COVD-19. We utilize the Veritor System for Rapid Detection of SARS-CoV-2 developed by Becton Dickinson.
We will bill your insurance for this test. If you do not have insurance, $100 is due at the time of testing.

PCR Test (Nasal Swab)
The PCR test is an FDA (EUA Authorized) NAAT Nasal Swab Test. It detects genetic material from the virus that causes COVID-19. Your swab is sent to an outside lab for processing with results typically available within 48-72 hours.
The cost for this test is billed to insurance, so there is no out of pocket cost to patients.

In addition to testing performed at our office, we can send staff to your social gathering to perform testing on-site. We will not make recommendations about who should be excluded at the event based on testing. That is the choice and responsibility of the host. However, we do universally recommend that all guests follow CDC guidelines and maintain social distance and wear masks.
